Twenty-two nautical miles inland of Gladstone, just below Rockhampton on the Queensland central coast lies an aviator's paradise.
The Old Station near Raglan is home to the Creed family, long time cattle graziers in the area since 1869. Fourth generation Creed sons, Ron and Andrew, and their families warmly invite you to call in and say hello.
The grass airstrip is beautifully maintained under the critical eye of pilot Ron. This huge gently undulating valley really is the most idyllic setting for an airstrip you are likely to discover.
You can stay overnight in very comfortable accommodation right next to the airstrip. And fear not, the Creeds will look after your stomach for you. You're in the bush here, so you know you won't go hungry. They also now have Avgas available, (bowser, not drum fuel!) so if you're planning on calling in, phone Ron on 0408 346536 to arrange.
To stay a while and sample some of the Creed's home-grown country hospitality is guaranteed to be one of the most memorable experiences you could wish for.
