It was a great day on Saturday at the Rylstone Airpark fly-in. Along with 46 other aircraft, we landed our C182 on one of Rylstone's beautiful grass strips and joined 100 guests enjoying a perfect spring day of aviating, meeting new people and getting to know the layout of this exciting new airpark venture.
Owner Rob Loneragan and his wife Harriet warmly welcomed us all, with the local Rescue volunteers happily raising a sweat over the bbq while they fed us all.
There are hangar and hangar home lots for sale up here, and basically the surrounding countryside does all the talking.
It's a pretty stunning location and you certainly feel as though you're a million miles from the chaos of Sydney.
Rylstone is nestled into a gorgeous open green valley just south-east of Mudgee in the central tablelands of New South Wales.
