Uluru & The Olgas
Curtis Aviation's Cessna 182, BXO, about to start the scenic pattern around Uluru & the Olgas.
She's rather wonderful, isn't she?
Different day, different markings are evident.
And here is the magnificent neighbour, Kata Tjuta.
We're allowed to fly a published pattern around the two rock formations, sticking to a specific route and height.
That's the Olgas (Kata Tjuta) in the background.
Nice morning for pics.
A good zoom lens helps!
It's peak hour at the bowser today as BMX falls into the queue for fuel. If we stay for less than an hour - they waive the landing fee! Happy days!
It's worth saving some time to walk around the base of Uluru too.
Despite the chained path, visitors are no longer allowed to climb the rock.
Uluru looks different from every angle.
Do your homework and flying in and out of YAYE is straightforward.
YAYE (Ayers Rock airport) is an easy, pilot-friendly stopover. Come on out!
